Headaches and Vertebrae

Most headaches are caused by a musculoskeletal problem ie a misalignment of the vertebrae of the spine that can cause spasms of the muscles of the neck and cause a tension type headache.  How do vertebrae misalign? Injures, accidents and traumas.  50% of all kids fall on their heads by six months of age, maybe off a changing table, a bed or a couch.  By the time we are 12 years old, we have all fallen out of a tree, off a bicycle or some other injury just by being a kid. The headaches may start then at that time or more likely over time.  

Frontal Headaches

Frontal headaches are usually caused by problems at the lower part of the neck while suboccipital (base of the skull) headaches are caused by problems in the upper neck by the skull.  Headaches on the sides of the head can be caused by chemistry such as hangovers, migraines or an internal problem that refers pain to the sides of the head.

Chiropractic and Headaches
